Coronavirus response

Updated 10 May 2022

As the continued spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) seems likely in the UK, we need to be cautious to protect ourselves and our loved ones. As a shiatsu practitioner, I have redoubled my everyday good hygiene practices and take some extra measures in my practice and clinic, for the foreseeable future:

  • I use a surgical face mask during the session and I ask clients to do the same (if able to)

  • I use a hygienic paper sheet on the futon and dispose it after each client

  • I wash my hands for longer between clients and dry them with a disposable paper towel instead of a normal towel

  • I ask clients to wash their hands/ use hand sanitiser before they enter the treatment space

  • I ventilate the space after each client

  • I will take time off if I feel even mildly unwell with respiratory or flu-like symptoms and take a lateral flow test

Please call or text me to cancel your shiatsu session, if you have a fever or symptoms of respiratory infection (runny nose, cough, sore throat), even if they are mild and/or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days. I will not charge the usual last minute cancellation fee. Please get in touch when you are fully recovered, to re-book your session.

If you belong to the more at-risk groups, such as being over 80 years old or having pre-existing health conditions (cardiovascular, respiratory, diabetes etc), please get in touch to discuss whether you wish to continue treatments at this time.
